What your holdings would cost you in tax today
Enter each holding once, with what it cost you to acquire. This page values every row at today's price from this site's own market data, then works out the tax that would follow if everything were disposed of at once — charged in full on every gain, and nothing given back for a loss.
How this is worked out
Each holding is valued at the quantity entered multiplied by the coin's most recently recorded price on this site. The result, less what was originally paid, is the unrealised figure — a gain if positive, a loss if negative. The governing section charges a gain in full and gives a loss no value at all, so the gaining holdings are added together and taxed; the losing ones are shown, and change nothing about the figure.
Every acquisition here is treated as its own holding, valued independently — two rows naming the same coin do not affect one another, and the arithmetic is unaffected by which method would be used to match acquisition lots on a real disposal ledger, because each row supplies its own single lot.
What this page does not do
Nothing here is sold, transferred or recorded anywhere. The figures exist for the length of this page view and nowhere else — there is no account, no saved portfolio, and no record of what was entered once the page is closed.
This page states the mechanism and the arithmetic that follows from it. It has no view on any holding, does not describe the portfolio as moving in a direction, and does not suggest anything to do about what it shows — that is a conversation for a registered Chartered Accountant who can see a whole return, not a page that has seen a handful of holdings.
If you have a full transaction history rather than a set of current holdings, the Schedule VDA generator works the same rule across every transfer in a file.
Informational only, not investment advice. The figures on this page are market data recorded from third-party sources at the times shown. They are not a live quote, they may be delayed or incomplete, and nothing here is a suggestion about what to do with any asset. This site does not hold funds and cannot place an order.
What this figure assumes, and what it does not know. This page only sees the holdings entered above, valued at this moment. A real financial year's income under s.194(1), Table Sl. No. 4 aggregates every transfer of a virtual digital asset in that year, not only what is still held today — a transfer already completed earlier in the year, on a different platform, or in a coin not listed here, changes the actual figure. Surcharge is not computed. The cost-of-acquisition figures entered above are exactly what you typed and are not checked against any record. A registered Chartered Accountant who can see the whole year is who confirms an actual filing figure — this page is a reference point, not that confirmation.
These figures are generated automatically from the information you provide, based on our reading of the applicable tax rules. They are for reference only and do not constitute tax advice. Please consult a registered Chartered Accountant before filing any return or relying on these numbers.
