What these figures mean

Correlation measures how closely two assets' daily returns have moved together: −1 means opposite proportional movement, 0 means no measurable relationship, and +1 means same-direction proportional movement. It uses daily log returns, not price levels.

Volatility is the standard deviation of daily returns, annualised. It describes the magnitude of historical movement, not its direction. Both measures look backward and say nothing about future movement.

About this data

Crypto daily closes come from CoinGecko. Nifty 50 daily closes are not currently available for this page. Correlation and volatility are calculated by this site from recorded closes; no provider is contacted while this page renders.

For correlation, only calendar dates on which both markets independently have a close are paired. Missing Nifty readings remain unavailable, not zero.
